Coffee County proclaims Career and Technical Education Month; local educators and program leaders thanked

Chairman Kim Ellis read the proclamation and commissioners publicly thanked students, teachers and administrators involved in Career Tech programs. Elba Superintendent Donny Powell said the programs "are an excellent opportunity for students to get skills to help them in the future." CCSS Special Programs Coordinator Gray Harrison and Fire Fighters Association President Dustin Rhoades also thanked the commission for honoring the programs and supporting local training pathways.
The acknowledgments came during the opening portion of the meeting; no formal action beyond presentation of the proclamations was recorded in the minutes. The commission then proceeded to routine administrative items and approvals.
