Summary
At the April 20 work session the property committee reported multiple facilities contracts coming to the board, school-safety statistics, and a $250,000 PCCD school-safety grant; the solicitor said a student-transportation contract is near finalization.
Mister Lackey, reporting for the property committee at the April 20 work session, listed multiple facilities contracts and maintenance projects headed to the board and highlighted a school-safety grant and recent safety-related metrics.
Items the committee reviewed and is presenting to the board include the Transcend custodial services contract, a Daktronics scoreboard service agreement, a Johnson Controls HVAC agreement, a fire-sprinkler inspection contract, concrete replacement at Royersford Elementary, floor-cleaning equipment purchases and cafeteria table and chair replacements. "A big thank you goes out to Mister Pellegrino and the facilities team for all their hard work and dedication to keep our facilities running and in great condition," Mister Lackey said.
On safety, the property update reported that school police have investigated 526 incident reports since Aug. 25 and that Lightspeed flagged 767 tips that have been investigated and closed in the past 90 days. The committee also noted that a PCCD grant of $250,000 was awarded to support school safety work.
In related remarks, solicitor Mister Fitzgerald said the district is "on the verge, hopefully, of finalizing the first student transportation contract," indicating the legal office is wrapping contract language and expects an imminent finalization.
What’s next: these contracts and the grant acceptance will appear on the board’s upcoming agenda for approval and any implementation steps will be managed by the facilities and school-police teams.
