Developers outline River Pointe mixed‑use plan with public trails and waterfront amenities

Developer representatives presented a conceptual master plan for the River Pointe Church property near U.S. 59 that envisions a mixed‑use destination with retail, residential, medical, office, hospitality and recreational components.

According to the presentation, the project would include lakes, walking trails, green space and a waterfront restaurant intended to form a community gathering area. The developers said the design is conceptual and would be guided by development standards and architectural controls to ensure consistency. They told commissioners there is interest in roughly 22 acres of the site and confirmed the intent for trails and open spaces to be accessible to the public.

Commissioners questioned how public access would be managed, parking capacity, market demand for medical and hospitality uses, and interest from potential developers. Commissioner Barry Beard specifically recognized the development presentation and asked about public access and other operational details; staff and the developer reiterated that trail and open‑space components are intended to be publicly available.
