Edgerton council adopts 2026 budget and sets 2025 property tax levy

A motion by Councilor Candy Davis, seconded by Councilor Jim Burdick, to adopt City of Edgerton Resolution 18-25 — “Adopt the 2026 Annual Budget and Establish the 2025 Property Tax Levy for the City of Edgerton” — passed on a 6–0 roll call vote. Councilors voting in favor were Shawn Prebil, Michelle Crisanti, Candy Davis, Tim Shaw, Lisa Venske and Jim Burdick.
City Clerk Wendy Loveland had confirmed that the meeting agenda and hearing notices were posted on Nov. 14, 2025 at City Hall, the library, the post office and the city website. The hearing served as the formal public-comment opportunity required before the council approved the budget and levy.
The council’s action finalizes the city’s fiscal plan for 2026 and sets the levy figure for property tax purposes for 2025; the resolution text and specific levy amount appear in the adopted resolution document (Resolution 18-25). The minutes record the adoption vote but do not include additional debate, amendments, or a roll-call record beyond the six affirmative council votes.
