The Lexington City Council at its March 9 meeting approved several routine municipal actions.
The council adopted Resolution No. 26-0309-8 to enter into an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for maintenance, control, supervision and regulation of certain state highways within the city. Council also approved using the same black "Lexington" lettering and black eagle on the new elevated water tower to match the existing tower.
Councilmember Bobby Wesner moved to adopt Resolution No. 26-0309-10 and submit the 2026 Downtown Revitalization Program application to the Texas Department of Agriculture; that motion passed. The council approved a two-year Service Agreement and Document Management Agreement with CTWP for copier services. The council re-appointed Dana Matson and Brenda Retzlaff to the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) board; the reappointment passed with three votes in favor and one abstention by Councilmember Anthony Retzlaff.
