Edgerton council approves $381,727 pay request, OKs electric truck purchase

Mayor Christopher Lund called the City of Edgerton Common Council to order on Sept. 2, 2025. The council approved several finance-related motions, including pay request #3 for RT Fox Contractors and the purchase of an electric pickup for city operations.
Councilmember Shawn Prebil moved to approve the agenda; the motion, seconded by Councilmember Candy Davis, passed on a 5-0 roll call vote. City Clerk Wendy Loveland confirmed that the meeting agendas were posted on Aug. 29, 2025 at City Hall, the library, the post office and the city website.
On a recommendation from the Finance Committee, the council approved pay request #3 from RT Fox Contractors Inc. for $381,727.10 for the Albion Street Utility and Street Improvement Project Phase 2. The motion was made by Candy Davis and seconded by Shawn Prebil and passed 5-0.
The council also approved bills and payroll totaling $647,834.06 on a Candy Davis motion, seconded by Shawn Prebil; the motion passed 5-0. Separately, the council declared a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 DPW truck surplus and set a minimum bid of $5,000 following a Candy Davis/Shawn Prebil motion that passed unanimously.
Council approved purchase of a Ford Lightning electric truck for $60,851.50, citing a $7,500 rebate and an estimated $5,000 auction credit; funds were identified from capital equipment not purchased in the 2025 budget. The motion to purchase was made by Candy Davis, seconded by Shawn Prebil, and passed on a 5-0 roll call vote.
