Edgerton council approves $2.99 million in bills, awards sidewalk and mower contracts, and meets in closed session on Business Park land

Mayor Christopher Lund called the City of Edgerton Common Council to order at 7:00 p.m. on Feb. 16, 2026. City Clerk Wendy Loveland confirmed the meeting agendas had been posted on Feb. 13, 2026 at City Hall, the library, the post office and the city’s website.
The council approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Councilmember Michelle Crisanti, seconded by Shawn Prebil. The council then approved the Feb. 2, 2026 meeting minutes on a motion by Jim Burdick, seconded by Shawn Prebil; both motions passed unanimously.
On finance matters, the council approved bills and payroll totaling $2,988,445.02 after a motion by Tim Shaw, seconded by Shawn Prebil. According to the minutes, that motion passed on a 6–0 roll call vote. “Loveland confirmed the meeting agendas were properly posted on Friday, February 13, 2026 at the City Hall, Library, Post Office and the City’s website on February 16th,” the minutes state.
The council approved a sidewalk grinding bid from We Fix Sidewalks at $11 per linear foot on a motion by Tim Shaw, seconded by Candy Davis; the motion passed on a 6–0 roll call vote. The council also declared an older mower surplus with a minimum sale bid set at $4,000 and approved purchase of a replacement mower from Burn’s Full Service for $13,999.95, with any shortfall to be covered by proceeds from the sale of the cemetery truck. Both mower-related motions passed 6–0.
Under redevelopment business, the Redevelopment Authority approved an interior grant of $3,000 for 123 Henry St. on a motion by Michelle Crisanti, seconded by Tim Shaw; the motion passed on a 6–0 roll call vote.
The council voted to go into closed session under Wis. Stat. 19.85(1)(e) to deliberate or negotiate the sale of Business Park land on a motion by Candy Davis, seconded by Shawn Prebil. The minutes record that the motion passed on a 6–0 roll call vote. After the closed-session discussion, the council adjourned from closed session on a motion by Candy Davis, seconded by Shawn Prebil; all voted in favor.
The minutes were signed by City Clerk Wendy Loveland and recorded as adopted March 2, 2026. The minutes do not record further detail of the closed-session deliberations, the buyer or asking price for Business Park land, or additional conditions related to the mower shortfall beyond the statement that proceeds from the cemetery truck sale would cover any gap.
