Richmond approves two economic development grants; Fire House measure passes 3–1

Resolution No. 38-2026 authorized the Development Corporation of Richmond to enter into an economic development grant agreement for Project Bread and to authorize expenditures under that agreement. Commissioner Terry Gaul moved to approve Resolution No. 38-2026; Commissioner Alex BeMent seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The commission then considered Resolution No. 39-2026 to authorize a grant agreement for Project Firehouse. Commissioner Barry Beard moved approval, and Commissioner Alex BeMent seconded. The motion passed by a 3–1 vote with Commissioner Terry Gaul opposed. The approval included a requirement that any request for prior release of equipment be brought back to the City Commission for approval.
