The Beaver Area School District Board of School Directors elected Merilu Hill president of the board and Karin Pilarski vice president during its organization meeting on Dec. 3, 2024, and appointed Robin Thompson as the district's Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) liaison.

The solicitor declared Hill elected and she assumed the chair. Karin Pilarski was elected vice president in a unanimous 8–0 roll-call vote after being nominated by Andrea Walker. The board then moved to appoint Robin Thompson as PSBA liaison for a one-year term beginning Dec. 3, 2024; the motion, made by Mark Korcinsky and seconded by Luke Berardelli, carried with all eight voting aye.
The meeting began at 7:05 PM with Mrs. Hill calling the meeting to order and leading the Pledge of Allegiance and concluded with a formal adjournment at 7:11 PM. Denise Sebek called the roll; eight directors were present (Bartholomew, Berardelli, Hill, Korcinsky via telephone, Pilarski, Thompson, Walker, Yates) and one director (Bovalino) was absent. Others present included Dr. Aiken, Mr. Askar, Ms. Sanders and Mrs. Trueblood.
President Merilu Hill thanked the board for the opportunity to serve and congratulated Vice President Karin Pilarski. After adjourning the organization meeting, Hill announced the board would proceed with a regular December work session followed by a special voting meeting.
Formal recorded actions at the meeting included the elections and the PSBA liaison appointment; the meeting minutes show motions, seconds where provided, and roll-call tallies as recorded by the board secretary. The board adjourned the organization meeting at 7:11 PM and proceeded to the scheduled work session and special voting meeting.
