"The attached municipal services agreement is between the city of Mount Clemens and Lewis 1884 Investments Incorporated doing business as Elro Steel for the development of property located at 215 North River Road," staff told the commission, describing the project and associated brownfield plan. "The developer will provide an annual payment of $300,000 to the city to offset increased municipal service costs. Payments will begin one year following issuance of the certificate of occupancy and continue for the duration of the brownfield plan."
The commission moved and approved the agreement on roll call without extended debate. Staff said the agreement includes standard provisions for term, breach, indemnification and termination and that public infrastructure work will include water, sanitary and storm sewer improvements and curb and gutter installation.
What happens next: Staff and the developer will finalize implementation steps, coordinate brownfield plan execution, and schedule the infrastructure and construction work consistent with plan approvals and permitting.
