The Bonham City Council on Oct. 13 approved a package of ordinances, board reappointments and an equipment purchase, taking several administrative and operational actions in a meeting that recorded unanimous or near-unanimous votes.
Chief Hawkes explained a truck-route ordinance intended to limit commercial vehicle traffic on N. Center Street (State Highway 78) between E. Sam Rayburn Drive (State Highway 56) and U.S. Highway 82. The minutes note council discussion of signage, outreach and whether trucks could make certain turns; the approved ordinance includes fueling-station exceptions and passed on a motion by Clark Smith, seconded by Ernie Quintana (recorded vote 6 - 0).
