Bonham approves warrant-amnesty program; residents asked to bring toys for Toys for Tots

The Bonham City Council approved a warrant-amnesty program on Dec. 1, 2025, for individuals with outstanding tickets and warrants. Bonham Municipal Judge Michael Evans told the council that from Dec. 2 through Dec. 15 the city would waive additional warrant fees for people who make arrangements to pay fines and bring three unwrapped toys with a minimum $15 value; toys will be donated to the Marines’ Toys for Tots program.
Judge Evans described the effort as intended to address a backlog of unpaid tickets and to support the holiday toy drive. Councilmember Allen Sanderson moved the resolution and Kevin Hayes seconded; the motion carried unanimously 7–0.
Ending: The resolution takes effect Dec. 2; Municipal Court staff were directed to implement the program and arrange collection and donation of toys to Toys for Tots.
