Athens council approves airport layout update, WWTP engineering contract and multiple city agreements

The Athens City Council on Dec. 22 unanimously approved a slate of resolutions advancing airport planning, wastewater-plant engineering and several economic- and facility-related agreements.
City Manager Elizabeth Borstad presented a Garver Engineering proposal to update the Airport Layout Plan at a proposed total cost of $317,304, funded through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act with a 95% federal share and a 5% local match. The council voted to authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement for the work; the motion passed unanimously.
