Borstad told the council that Jones has an extensive municipal background, including prior service with the cities of Keller, Trophy Club and Sunnyvale, and that Cockerham brings 17 years of municipal government experience and is a certified Texas Registered Municipal Clerk.
Councilmember Bill Priestley moved to confirm David Jones as Interim Fire Chief; Mayor Pro-Tem SyTanna Freeman seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Bryan Barker moved to appoint Ronda Cockerham as City Planner, seconded by Freeman, and the motion likewise carried unanimously.
Both appointments were routine personnel confirmations following the closed session. No additional conditions or contested objections were recorded in the public minutes. The council did not indicate a timetable for a permanent fire chief search in the public record of this meeting.
