Hamilton Community Schools announces new hires, growing kindergarten enrollment and honors long-serving teacher

Hamilton Community Schools administrators introduced three new hires and highlighted enrollment trends and retirements during the meeting.
Mrs. Watkins (speaker 4) welcomed new hires Emily Long, Madison Bellinger and Jana Schlosser, noting the district had multiple applicants for the positions and that the three were chosen as the best fit. The board earlier added Schlosser’s hire to the consent agenda for formal approval.
Watkins also reported that pre-K and kindergarten registration is strong: as of the meeting the district had 37 kindergarten students enrolled and expected growth that would create three kindergarten sections next year. "So as a result ... we will have 3 kindergarten sections next year," she said.
The board honored Mrs. Leitzel (speaker 5) for long service; a presenter noted 49 years total and 41 years with Hamilton were cited during the remarks. Trustees thanked her for her service and wished her well in retirement.
No substantive personnel controversies were raised; the board approved consent agenda items that included the personnel additions and moved on to other business.
