Committee records tentative agreement extensions for POLC units; later finds original motions
Summary
The Personnel Committee voted to place tentative agreement extensions for POLC Units C and D (Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2026) into the record, but a post-meeting note says the earlier motions were found in late 2024 and the committee’s motions were not forwarded to the Full Board.
County Administrator Moses Sanzo told the Personnel Committee on March 17 that while Administration staff were updating agreements for POLC Units C and D (ratified previously), no board motions were located in the files and the committee was asked to make motions for the official record.
Commissioner Gary Howell moved and Commissioner Greg Wise supported a motion to recommend that the Full Board approve the Tentative Agreement Extension to the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the period Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2026, as ratified April 14, 2025, between the County of Lapeer and POLC Unit C (Corrections and Deputy Clerks). The motion carried unanimously. A second, similar motion to record the Unit D extension also carried unanimously.
A special note in the minutes states that following the Personnel Committee meeting, the motions for both POLC Units C and D were located at the end of 2024 rather than 2025; therefore, the committee’s motions were not needed and were not forwarded to the Full Board.
