The La Mirada City Council on March 10 approved a set of routine administrative and legislative items, including a youth council appointment, two property-tax exchange resolutions, consent calendar items and a successor‑agency bill to pay.
City Manager recommended the appointment of Sienna Dominguez, a Sonora High School freshman active in Key Club, ASB and the La Mirada Armada Swim Club, to an at-large vacancy on the La Mirada Youth Council for a term ending in October. "With that, it's recommended that city council appoint Sienna Dominguez to the La Mirada Youth Council for a term ending in October," the City Manager said. Council moved, seconded and approved the appointment; the oath of office was scheduled to be administered after the meeting.
The council approved the consent calendar (items 8.1–8.4) without discussion.
On consent, the council adopted two related resolutions (No. 2606 and No. 2607) to approve the negotiated exchange of property tax revenues resulting from annexation of parcel map PM 73574 into County Lighting Maintenance District 10045, including the city acting as successor agency to the Southeast Recreation and Park District for one of the resolutions. Staff described the exchange as routine and required under state law to ensure the lighting district receives funding for street lights in the newly annexed area; the council approved both resolutions on roll call.
Acting in its capacity as successor agency to the La Mirada Redevelopment Agency, the council also moved and approved a bill to pay (item 10.1) on roll call without discussion.
All listed motions and resolutions in these agenda items were approved on roll call; the council recorded "aye" votes from the members present. Mayor Pro Tematero was recorded as absent during roll calls.
