The La Mirada City Council adopted Resolution No. 2610 on March 24 to approve the city’s Fiscal Year 2627 project list required to receive SB1 (Road Repair and Accountability Act) funding. City staff described the project list and identified “Neighborhood Slurry Seal Area 7” as an anticipated SB1-funded project.
City staff said the Area 7 project covers streets west of Biola Avenue, sections of Talamarata Boulevard between Imperial and Rosecrans, and the neighborhood immediately south of Regional Park and the golf course. The scope includes asphalt pavement repairs, crack sealing, placement of slurry seal and repainting of pavement striping and legends. Construction was described as planned for July through September, with an estimated useful life of seven years.
The council asked staff how project priorities were determined. Staff replied that prioritization for SB1 funds is primarily based on projects that are ready to be bid and completed within the fiscal year, though council direction could apply funds to other street improvements.
On a roll-call vote, the council adopted Resolution No. 2610. The clerk recorded ayes from councilmembers present and one absence. The resolution authorizes staff to submit the project list to the California Transportation Commission to establish eligibility for SB1 allocations.
