Staff said the council had previously discussed the trade-offs at a workshop and recommended option 1, which fixes a dollar amount for the levy rather than a mill rate. Council members encouraged the public to review the prior recorded workshop discussion for details and staff said the change is subject to applicable provisions of the Montana Code Annotated as noted in the meeting.
Councilors approved both the public safety levy conversion and the library operations levy conversion by unanimous voice votes.
