Public Works described a recent, successful planned power outage tied to Turbine 14 work. Staff said the outage was coordinated with contractors and field crews and that restoration occurred within about an hour for affected customers. Photos shown to the council illustrated work on new bus jumpers and the completed substation fencing.
The public-works speaker said initial turbine testing is planned for later this week, weather permitting, and that once the unit is cleared for operations and placed into the MISO power auction the city will begin receiving auction credits thereafter. No council vote was taken; the update was informational.
