Brodeur chosen chair as Shiawassee County board organizes for 2025

The Shiawassee County Board of Commissioners elected Commissioner Brodeur chair for a two-year term and Commissioner Holzhausen vice-chair for 2025 during its organizational meeting on Wednesday evening, County Clerk Caroline D. Wilson said.
The nominations opened after Wilson called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. and recorded roll call. Commissioner Howard nominated Brodeur for the 2025–2026 chairmanship; with no other nominations the board closed nominations and carried a roll-call vote with seven yeas to elect Brodeur. Brodeur then took the chair and presided over the remainder of the meeting.
Chairman Brodeur opened nominations for a one-year vice-chair term. Commissioner Garber nominated Commissioner Holzhausen; no additional nominations were made. A roll-call vote again passed unanimously, electing Holzhausen vice-chair for 2025.
Brodeur told the board that the committee assignment list would be provided to commissioners via email within the next couple of days. The chair also offered an opportunity for public comment; none was received. County Clerk Caroline D. Wilson recorded the meeting as adjourned at 5:04 p.m.
