Treasurer Jessica (speaker 1) told the Lebanon City Council she had recently learned the city's tax-levy filing is due in December and said she will bring the levy discussion to the ordinance committee for prompt action. "I just found out today that the tax levy is due by the December," Jessica said, explaining she had expected the deadline later in the year and will sit down with supervisors to prepare amendments and next year’s budget simultaneously to avoid repeating work.
She urged the council to move quickly because the schedule for posting 2026 meeting dates also must be completed before the end of the month. Jessica detailed operational work tied to the move into the new council space and publicly thanked staff members and contractors—naming Stephanie, Michelle, Martin Roofing and Blake—for their contributions to the relocation. She warned that changing meeting cadence in 2026 could reduce the council’s capacity to review ordinances and process payments in a timely way if the schedule change were enacted before procedures and schedules were adjusted.
The treasurer asked to place the tax-levy item under the ordinance committee and said she will provide documentation and timelines for council consideration; no final levy vote was taken at the meeting.
