Brian Shea was elected chair of the Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors for 2026 and Tim Wichman was elected chair pro tem following a brief organizational session in which District Court Judge Maggie Popp Reyes swore in newly elected Supervisor Keith Jones.
The action came after the Board named County Auditor Mary Ann Hanusa temporary chair to oversee nominations and votes. The Board recorded unanimous roll-call approvals where noted for leadership positions.
The Board also voted to adopt Robert’s Rules of Order as its written parliamentary procedure except when those rules conflict with the Code of Iowa. Supervisors approved a standing schedule of regular sessions—Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m.—with the chair authorized to cancel or add meetings; town halls in rural Pottawattamie County will continue.
The leadership and procedural votes set the Board’s organizational framework for the year and clarify the process for future meetings and agenda management.
