Village Manager Scott and department heads used the meeting to update trustees on several ongoing public works and community programs.
Scott said Aqua Illinois is replacing a pipe along University Parkway between Stunkle and Old Monee Road with work expected to finish around Christmas. She noted staff is monitoring potential federal SNAP changes and is lining up alternative food-assistance resources, and that the village opened registration for water-relief and snow-removal programs (eligibility and benefits summarized in the packet).
Scott said Metra's University Park contractor is ahead of schedule and plans to reopen the West-side station canopy entrance on Nov. 3; the East-side entrance will close temporarily for about one to one-and-a-half months during completion of remaining work.
Public Works reported branch-removal work complete and patching prioritized before winter. The department installed two electric speed signs and will continue street maintenance and winter preparation. The police and fire chiefs reported on recent calls for service, community outreach and upcoming programs (CPR class Nov. 16; trunk-or-treat Oct. 31).
Scott said the village ordered new parking machines for commuter lots and will have Flock Safety cameras at the entrances with MetroPD and RPD access; the Village will have no financial commitment for the cameras. Staff also noted economic-development outreach, housing conversations with Governors State University and plans to present the FY26 budget public hearing notice.
