CCAC approves Jan. 9 minutes, tables Nov. 14 after members flag inaccuracies

A motion to approve the Sept. 12 minutes was made by Rob Fox and carried with a recorded tally of 3 yes, 0 no and 2 abstentions after two members said they had not been present for that meeting and would not vote. Later in the agenda the Jan. 9 minutes were presented, and the committee approved those minutes unanimously after a motion and second.
Members raised detailed concerns about the Nov. 14 minutes, saying the document contained misspellings, incorrect code citations and sentences that lack context. Monique Malak said the minutes currently reference "code county code amendment 2018-219" rather than the correct citation and offered to provide corrected spellings and phrasing. The committee agreed to table the Nov. 14 minutes so staff and members can produce corrected wording for the record and use the item as a test case for improving minute accuracy.
The chair said the committee will ask staff to bring corrected drafts back and that members should be able to review and propose revisions before approval. The exchange underscored broader committee concern about version control and the accuracy of meeting records.
Next steps: Nov. 14 minutes will be revised and returned for future consideration; Jan. 9 and Sept. 12 minutes remain part of the official record.
