Mono County proclaims March 2026 Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month; local advocate thanks board

The Mono County Board of Supervisors on March 10 adopted a proclamation declaring March 2026 Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Awareness Month.
Belinda Liverman, who identified herself as a National MS Society ambassador, told the board she and others living with MS appreciate the county’s recognition. "Every day is different," Liverman said, describing MS as a central nervous system disease that can affect mobility and daily functioning. She urged continued public awareness and support for research.
Chair (speaker 2) read the proclamation noting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s investments in research and training, then called for a motion. The board voted 5–0 to adopt the proclamation.
The proclamation asks residents to learn more about MS and support people living with the disease; no additional county actions were proposed at the meeting. The board proceeded with its regular agenda after the vote.
