Buckingham supervisors approve routine claims, appropriations and departmental transfers

The Buckingham County Board of Supervisors approved routine fiscal and departmental items at its March 9 meeting.
The board unanimously approved claims as presented and adopted fourth‑quarter appropriations including $3,217,532 for the General Fund and $8,367,382 total school appropriations broken down into instruction, administration, transportation, operations, cafeteria and technology line items. Supervisors also approved a $773.21 appropriation from the EMS Reserve Fund to purchase training materials.
The board authorized returning $126 held in the Asset Forfeiture Account to an individual after reviewing the sheriff’s request, and approved transferring three surplus sheriff vehicles (2017, 2018 and 2019 Ford Explorers) to Buckingham County Schools to support transportation and departmental needs.
All recorded votes on these routine matters were unanimous among the six supervisors present; one supervisor was absent. These actions were taken as part of the board’s regular consent and departmental agenda items and will be reflected in the county’s financial records and asset inventory.
