The committee approved staff recommendations to address two long‑standing nuisance properties.
Community development director James Krambek described the first property at 507 1st NE as having chronic junk, debris and unlicensed vehicles; staff recommended towing vehicles and abatement. The second property at 616 4th Ave NE involves an individual living in a parked RV that is not connected to city utilities; staff recommended issuing $300 citations every 10 days and pursuing legal action through the city attorney for unresolved violations.
A motion to accept both staff recommendations passed by voice vote. Staff will proceed with towing and abatement processes for the first property and begin recurring citation and legal steps for the second property as recommended.
