Staff also briefed the board on after‑hours crisis coverage provided by Alameda County through a local contract; Alameda reported a 40% increase in after‑hours call volume attributed in part to greater public awareness of the 988 national crisis line. Supervisors approved first amendments to the ResPad agreements (youth and adult) and the continuation of the contract with the local boarding facility.
Separately the board considered and approved adding one full‑time personnel assistant in the HSS administration budget to help with recruitment, payroll actions and Tyler system duties for roughly 160 allocated positions. The motion passed (one supervisor recorded a no vote).
