The Hartselle City Council unanimously approved an amendment to the Sports Facilities Companies (SFC) contract to allow SFC to provide an on-site Operations Advisor to support the Parks & Recreation Director during the busy spring and summer season.
Council President Dr. Charles M. Gill II asked Mayor Missy Evans to explain the amendment. Mayor Evans said the change would allow SFC to provide direct, on-site operational support while the city waits for SFC’s optimization report, which was authorized under the contract the council approved on Jan. 14. Council Member Mike Swafford moved to approve the amendment; Council Member Sherry Yeager seconded and the motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
The council did not discuss contract cost changes or the advisor’s hourly rate during the meeting; the amendment was described as an interim staffing measure while the optimization study is completed.
