Commissioners approve alcohol licenses for Rodeo House and Roscoe Quick Mart

The Coweta County Board of Commissioners approved two alcohol license requests at its April 7 meeting.
Permits manager Joy Thompson presented an on‑premises consumption license for Rodeo House LLC (applicant Jesse Combs) at 1441 Welcome Road, Newnan (District 2). Thompson told the board the application meets county distance requirements under the county ordinance and that the property previously operated as a wedding and event venue under a special use permit. Jean Carter, a neighboring resident, spoke in opposition citing rural residential character and concerns about alcohol service adjacent to horse stables. Staff noted that any violation of the county’s alcohol ordinance could lead to revocation of the alcohol license and the special‑use permit. The board closed the public hearing and approved the license with the conditions provided in the staff packet.
Thompson also presented a package beer and wine license application for Tanisha Demani, operator of Roscoe Quick Mart at 3921 Roscoe Road (District 3). The location previously operated as Roscoe Food Mart and held an active license within the past 12 months, so Thompson said a survey was not required; no public speakers signed up on this item. The board closed the hearing and approved the application with the recommended conditions. In both cases staff emphasized that final approvals from required state and local agencies are necessary before opening.
