Council discusses cost and phased rollout for proposed new Montgomery City flag

At Item 14 the council considered a resolution to adopt and designate a new city flag. Council member Mitchell said she received no sign-ups in opposition and asked members to vote the measure up or down. Other council members asked how much adoption would cost and whether uniforms or other city materials would have to change.
Clerk Blaylock said the committee planned to phase implementation and that the flag company had provided per-flag cost estimates; she offered to pull those estimates and consult with finance. Members indicated some costs might be borne by the committee rather than the general fund but asked for firm figures before taking final action.
No final vote was recorded at the work session; the clerk will return cost estimates and coordination options for future consideration.
