Council approves consent calendar, project contingencies and appointments; design amendment cleared

The consent calendar passed unanimously and included approval of minutes and vendor/benefit checks and transfers totaling $2,009,228.37. Council approved Resolution No. R-26-2056 to add an additional project contingency for the Lake Wilderness Golf Course Community Clubhouse Project; that resolution passed 6-1, with Councilmember Syd Dawson dissenting. The council also approved Resolution No. R-26-2057 to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Johnston Architects, LLC for construction administration; that motion carried 7-0.
Council approved a Commission Interview Subcommittee recommendation to appoint three candidates to their respective commissions by unanimous vote. During the meeting council approved several procedural agenda amendments and voted to extend the meeting time twice to complete business.
The minutes record that Parks and Recreation Director/Assistant City Manager Dave Johnson answered questions on the clubhouse contingency and Public Works Director Tawni Dalziel presented findings from the Pavement Condition Index Study. A Human Services Grant to the Tahoma School District was introduced by Julie Hunsaker and scheduled to return for approval at a later meeting.
