Foley board approves 2025 by-laws, re-elects officers and updates 2026 calendar

The Foley City Board of Adjustment & Appeals completed routine housekeeping business at its Dec. 8 meeting, approving the board's 2025 by-laws, electing officers for 2026 and revising the board's December 2026 meeting date.
Board member Luanne McCarley moved to approve the 2025 by-laws; Tyler Higginbotham seconded and the motion passed on a unanimous vote. Members then discussed officer continuity; Keith Jiskra and Luanne McCarley indicated they were willing to continue serving in officer roles for 2026. Tyler Higginbotham moved to elect Keith Jiskra as chairman and Luanne McCarley as vice-chairman; Steve Bailey seconded and the vote was unanimous.
Staff noted a scheduling conflict requiring the board to move its December 2026 meeting to Tuesday, Dec. 8. Steve Bailey moved to revise the 2026 December meeting date to that day; Luanne McCarley seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board also approved the Nov. 4, 2025 meeting minutes earlier in the session.
All housekeeping motions passed on unanimous votes with four members present; two members were recorded as absent. No substantive policy changes or budgetary items were discussed during these agenda items.
