Chairman Carl Randall updated the council that work on the park bridge is more than halfway finished and that carpenter-ant damage was found; Quality Pest Control estimated $490 to treat the infestation. Randall said the committee is waiting to hear from an electrician before moving the generator.
Roads Committee members reported there is no new update on the ALDOT grant application and were told results could be as late as October. The committee also said potholes near the Nelms residence were repaired but have reappeared; County crews plan to work on Lakeshore Drive within the next week depending on weather. Commissioner Chase Moore provided a labor estimate of about $20 per hour per worker and said two workers would be needed for the job.
No motions related to the ALDOT grant or additional funding for bridge repairs were made at the March 3 meeting.
