Summary
The council unanimously approved the second-quarter investment report (staff moved $125,000 into TexPool), an amendment to the water volume reporting agreement with Wimberley Water Supply Corporation that includes several fee increases, and authorized enforcement litigation under Chapter 54 for a noncompliant property; staff also announced an executive session on real property with no subsequent action.
At its April 16 meeting the Wimberley City Council approved a package of administrative and legal actions covering investments, a contract amendment, and code enforcement.
Mister Potek presented the city's quarterly investment report and said staff moved $125,000 into TexPool to take advantage of higher yields. He described the current portfolio as roughly 69% "other funds," about 20% in TexPool and 12% in certificates of deposit. Councilmember (speaker 10) moved to approve the report; the motion passed unanimously (4'0).
Staff then described an amendment to the city's water volume reporting and termination agreement with the Wimberley Water Supply Corporation. The packet cited increases for certain compensation items; staff recommended approval of the amendment and the council adopted the amendment by unanimous vote. Staff noted the agreement term will next be revisited in 2027 (the item text indicated the agreement extends to August 2027 and future extensions will be brought back to council).
Council also authorized staff to pursue enforcement litigation under Chapter 54 of the Texas Local Government Code for a property on Jewel described as noncompliant after attempts to work with the owner. After a motion and second the council approved the enforcement action unanimously (4'0).
The council then entered executive session under Texas Government Code §551.072 to deliberate real-property valuation and possible land acquisition for future parking. After returning to open session council said no action resulted from the executive session.
Earlier on the agenda the council had approved the consent agenda by unanimous vote.
