The Albany Utility Board on March 12 approved a one-year renewal with Milestone for the utility’s customer payment portal and interactive voice response system, accepting a contract for $62,400.
“This is our standard annual renewal for our utility billing customer payment portal,” Johnson said, describing the portal as the interface between the city’s CIS (Munis) and meter-data systems and a tool customers use to view consumption and make payments. Johnson said the contract also covers phone-based payments through the IVR system.
Board members asked whether the price had changed from prior years; staff said the prior-year contract was about $62,000 and that the cost has been consistent. After brief discussion the board moved, seconded and approved the contract by roll call.
The board did not attach additional conditions to the renewal. The vote followed a standard roll call and the motion passed with affirmative votes recorded from board members present. The portal renewal will continue to provide an online payment channel and customer access to consumption data.
