The Clanton City Council unanimously adopted three resolutions during its March 23, 2026 meeting.
Resolution 2026-03-23-01 affirmed the mayor’s letter of support for the Green Up Hotel Wilson grant project. Councilmember Phillip Giles moved to adopt the resolution and Councilmember Don Driver seconded; the motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
Resolution 2026-03-23-02 appointed certain citizens as Clanton City representatives to the Chilton County Airport Authority. Councilmember Awlahjaday Agee moved adoption, Councilmember Don Driver seconded, and the council approved the appointments by unanimous voice vote.
Resolution 2026-03-23-03 approved a lighting agreement with Alabama Power. Councilmember Don Driver moved the measure and Councilmember Phillip Giles seconded; the minutes record the motion as adopted by unanimous voice vote. The minutes include a later line that appears to mislabel the resolution number when describing that vote; the record as a whole indicates three separate resolutions were adopted, and the lighting agreement is recorded as Resolution 2026-03-23-03.
Earlier in the meeting the council recessed for a public hearing on proposed zoning-code amendments; Mayor Jeff Price called for testimony in favor and against and no members of the public spoke. With no further business, the council adjourned at 5:11 p.m.
