Summary
The drainage board approved the drainage components of County Road 350 West reconstruction and three related 47 Commons development lots, with engineers saying the designs meet the county stormwater ordinance and staff recommending conditional sign-off where minor final comments remain.
The Boone County Drainage Board on April 20 approved drainage plans for several local development projects, including the County Road 350 West reconstruction and multiple lots in the 47 Commons planned unit development.
Terry Daley of Christopher Burke Engineering described the County Road 350 West project — widening to two 11-foot travel lanes with paved shoulders and roadside-ditch detention — and recommended approval after engineers reviewed runoff calculations and detention designs. "We feel like the project meets the requirements of the stormwater ordinance and standards, and we recommend approval of the County Road 350 West reconstruction project," Daley told the board.
The board also approved drainage plans for 47 Commons Lot 2 (a Merit Contracting headquarters) and Lot 4 (Shelby Materials), with staff saying drainage had been accounted for within the master plan and that detailed calculations meet county standards. For Windswept Farm Section 3 staff recommended approval subject to minor final comments and Carrie and Leah's remaining review; the board approved that item subject to final staff sign-off.
Harryworth Industrial Phase 2, a light-industrial expansion along Perryworth Road, was reviewed and approved after staff confirmed it routes most runoff into the existing Wally system and meets ordinance standards.
All motions were approved by voice vote; the transcript records ayes but does not include a roll-call tally. Staff said they will follow up on final plan comments and require county inspection where noted.
