The council voted to authorize Orange Beach to participate in current and future opioid settlements.
A resolution authorizing the sale of the Orange Beach Event Center at the Wharf was adopted by the council. A proposed appointment to the Orange Beach City Board of Education was tabled at the nominee Jerry’s request so he could be present with his attorney.
Several routine administrative items also passed, including certification of cash requirements, approval of the fiscal year 2024 audited financial statements, a restaurant retail liquor license for Last Mango Bar and Chill at The Wharf, and task orders for engineering and beach-monitoring services.
All listed motions and resolutions were moved, seconded and carried as recorded in the meeting; where recorded, votes were unanimous. The transcript records one abstention on a cash-certification item and one council member absent (Council member Johnson).
