Manager gives updates on events, development and GLO street-improvement bids; recommendation due Sept. 16
Summary
The City Manager reported on upcoming city events, sales-tax reporting, development updates including a withdrawn permit, TXDOT sidewalk-grant status, and that bids for the GLO Street Improvement Project were opened and would be reviewed with a recommendation at the special called meeting on Sept. 16, 2025.
City Manager Billy S. Wiggins provided a multi-part report on Sept. 9 detailing upcoming events, anticipated sales-tax reporting, development activity and grant/project status.
Items included a 9/11 Prayer and Remembrance Ceremony scheduled for Sept. 11 at City Hall, a Main Street Retro 80's Sip & Shop event on Sept. 20, the availability of the State Comptroller's September sales-tax report on Sept. 12 for July 2025 collections, and an update that a permit application by Ewald Kubota had been withdrawn with questions about infrastructure obligations if that property is sold.
Wiggins also noted that selections for a TXDOT sidewalk grant should be available in October and that bids for the GLO Street Improvement Project were opened on Sept. 9; bids were under review by Dalton Brown and a recommendation will be presented at the special called council meeting on Sept. 16, 2025.
