SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. — Two members of the public told the Board of Supervisors on March 17 that they were harmed by the County Agriculture Department’s inspection and notification timing in relation to a Forest Service gravel/aggregate base delivery bid.
Bob Johnson appeared before the Board with a six-page packet, including a letter from the Siskiyou County Agriculture Department and a written conversation timeline, saying he had concerns about "negative impacts associated with losing a Forest Service bid for gravel/aggregate base delivery due to the Department’s inspection and notification timing." Gravel pit operator Tom Louie told the Board he also was negatively affected by the timing.
Deputy County Clerk Wendy Winningham said an email about the matter was in the County Clerk's correspondence file available for public inspection, and County Administrator Angela Davis told the Board that inquiries regarding the Forest Service bid had been made.
