SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. — A letter from County Administration supporting a petition to amend Section 251(a) of Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations — a change that would affect use of trail cameras during hunting seasons — was removed from the Board's consent agenda on March 17 for further review.

Supervisor Ray A. Haupt said he was concerned the proposed amendment could "impact federal land grazing/range permittees’ ability to monitor their herds" and raised enforcement difficulties across private/public checkerboard landscapes. Supervisor Jess Harris said she opposed the letter because it could remove predator-management tools such as cameras used to monitor bears.
