At their March 24 meeting the Chase County Commissioners approved the March 10 meeting minutes and the claims register as submitted. The clerk read claims across county funds; the grand total listed in the claims register was $465,694.90.
Commissioner Kurt Bernhardt moved to accept and sign the county’s annual weed report; the motion passed unanimously. The board also appointed four people to the planning and zoning board: Shona Heim and Marci Fanning were appointed to two‑year terms expiring January 2028; Tim Varilek and Grant Jones were appointed to three‑year terms expiring January 2029. The motions for these routine items passed unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting, Rex Felker inquired about parking a Chase County Schools bus at the Lamar shop overnight for the remainder of the school year because a driver relocated to Brandon. Commissioners raised no objection; Chairman Kurt Bernhardt said he would identify a suitable parking location and notify Felker.
With no further business the board adjourned at 10:53 a.m.
