Planning staff introduced a standardized subdivision application and checklist designed to simplify review by ensuring applicants submit all required materials before commission action.
"Ideally... all the boxes checked, all the pieces in place," a staff member said, describing a packet that would include the map, approval letters, soil and solar reports and other required documentation; once verified by staff, the commission's review would be a straightforward yes-or-no decision.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about form wording and approval checkboxes. They agreed staff should add a checkbox or notation that records the commission's step as "Approved and moved to city council" so records show the commission completed its review before council consideration.
Staff said the completed forms and wording edits would be circulated to commissioners before the next meeting and that, in practice, applicants who present a complete package would receive a simpler, quicker review path.
Next steps: staff will update the subdivision application form and the checkboxes to reflect the commission's preferred wording and will email the revised forms to commissioners ahead of the April meeting for consideration.
