Benton County amends donated-leave policy, change effective April 18

The Benton County Board of Supervisors on April 16 voted unanimously to approve Resolution #26-26, amending the county handbook’s donated-leave policy in section 4.4. The amendment, adopted as an update to Resolution #22-25, is dated and will go into effect April 18, 2026.
The action came during routine business when Supervisor Bruce Volz moved and Supervisor Ronald J. Tippett seconded approval of the agenda and subsequent resolutions. The resolution document included a statement that the proposed Policies and Procedures Regarding Donated Leave are attached as Exhibit A and that conflicting prior handbook language is repealed to the extent of the conflict. The resolution was signed by Chairman Tracy Seeman, Supervisor Ronald J. Tippett and Supervisor Bruce Volz and attested by Auditor Hayley Rippel.
The board did not read the full Exhibit A into the record at the meeting. The county indicated that full resolution language and the referenced Exhibit A are available in the auditor’s office and online at www.bentoncountyia.gov. The motion to adopt passed with all three supervisors voting aye.
