Jackson County commissioners selected Commissioner Rick Dyer as the county's voting delegate to the 2026 National Association of Counties (NACo) Annual Conference and named Commissioner Colleen Roberts as the alternate at a staff meeting on March 19, 2026. Commissioner Dyer said he will attend the conference and Commissioner Roberts said she also plans to attend; Commissioner Randy Sparacino said he was undecided.
During liaison committee reports, Commissioner Colleen Roberts said she attended a meeting of the Jackson Soil and Water Conservation District and is actively working to advance wolf-management legislation through outreach to federal and intergovernmental agencies. Roberts also reported attending the Butte Falls City Council meeting and raised an earlier email from the District Superintendent for School District No. 6 about signage; staff were asked to prepare bullet-point guidance to support a consistent response, given Roberts' role as the liaison for Development Services.
Commissioner Randy Sparacino reported attending a Medford City Council meeting. Chair Rick Dyer reported on a discussion he had concerning Southern Oregon University’s sustainability efforts and future budgeting plans. The board reviewed calendars with no changes, noted there was nothing for executive session, and adjourned at 9:44 a.m.
