Jackson County commissioners approved a draft comment letter to the Bureau of Land Management regarding the revision of the 2016 Southwestern Oregon Resource Management Plan at a staff meeting on March 19, 2026. County Administrator Danny Jordan reviewed the draft, which was developed using a template provided by the American Forest Resource Council, and said it was thorough and appropriately detailed.
Commissioner Colleen Roberts moved to approve the letter as presented; Commissioner Randy Sparacino seconded the motion. Commissioners Roberts, Sparacino and Chair Rick Dyer voted aye and the motion passed. Deputy County Counsel Pete Phibrick reported he had nothing to add to the discussion.
The board took this action during its staff meeting; the minutes record the approval and the unanimous vote. No amendments to the draft letter were recorded in the minutes.
