The Calabasas City Council on April 8 approved an on‑call roster of seven consultants for development review engineering and inspection services. City staff said the contracts are structured on an on‑call basis, with a $300,000 per‑firm limit, so that the city can quickly assign consultants when grants or projects allow.
"They all specialize in civil engineering," Curtis, the presenting staff member, said, noting that some firms emphasize grading and drainage, others structural work or construction management and inspection.
Council members asked for clarification on specialties and the not‑to‑exceed limits; staff said the program is intended to provide flexibility and speed procurement when outside funding becomes available. The council approved the contracts by voice vote recorded as 5–0.
