Mono County honors Richard Burbine on his 100th birthday with board proclamation

Supervisor Peters read the proclamation and welcomed family members and a brief set of remarks from guests including Senator Alvarado Gill, who said state legislative bodies will also deliver a resolution acknowledging Burbine’s service. The board moved, seconded and adopted the proclamation; the clerk recorded 4 yeses and one absence.
“Mr. Burbine’s life has been defined by extraordinary courage, unwavering service to his country, and a lifelong commitment to the well‑being of others,” the proclamation reads.
The board indicated the proclamation will be formally presented to Mr. Burbine during his birthday celebrations this month.
What’s next: County staff will prepare a copy of the board’s proclamation for delivery to Burbine and noted plans for additional recognition in Sacramento.
